Loading Windows XP Professional on to a SCSI drive Copy the following files from the \drivers\WinXP directory of the CD to the root of a floppy disk: \txtsetup.oem \symmpi.tag \32_bit\oemsetup.inf \32_bit\symmpi.sys \64_bit\oemsetup.inf \64_bit\symmpi.sys The directories are required for windows to find the correct files. Power up the PC with the Windows XP Professional CD in the CD drive and the above floppy disk in drive A:. Press F6 to install a 3rd party SCSI drive. Be quick about this. Microsoft doesn't allow much time to think about it. It will then go through many drivers from the CD. When it is finished, press S to specify other drivers. When asked which driver to load, select the 32 bit directory unless the PC has an Intel Itanium processor (high end servers only). This is not dependant on putting the P79320 in a 32 bit vs. a 64 it slot. Press ENTER to continue. Press ENTER to set up Windows XP Professional. Press F8 to agree. When asked about partitions, press C to create a partition, or ENTER to have it make the whole drive 1 partition. It may ask about non certified logos and/or files, select YES to continue each time it does that.
